A wealthy and aging French socialite, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille lived with her cat Duchess, and her three kittens: Berlioz, Toulouse, and Marie. She also employed a butler, named Edgar.
Madame sent for her friend, George Hautecourt, to finalize her will. But they did not know that Edgar was listening to them. Madame considered her cats like her family and so she planned to leave everything to them. The estate would only then be handed to Edgar once all the cats die. Upon hearing this, Edgar decided to put sleeping pills in the cats' cream and he brought them to the countryside while they were asleep. However, Edgar's plans were ruined when two dogs named Lafayette and Napoleon chased him and prompted him to leave the cats in a field somewhere. The next day, the cats found themselves not in their home, but in the countryside, and met a cat named Thomas O'Malley, who offered to get the family back to Madame.
Meanwhile, back in Paris, Edgar seemed to think he got away with his little crime...until he realized that he left his hat and umbrella out in the countryside, and quickly rushed out to retrieve them. Meanwhile, Thomas, Duchess and the kids rode on a milk truck, before being found out by the driver. They then attempted to follow a train track, until a train caused them to dive off. However, little Marie fell in a nearby river. Thomas jumped in to save her, and the family followed him downstream.
They then met up with two female geese, Abigail and Amelia, who they then followed to their Uncle Waldo to a restaurant where he escaped from becoming the main course. However, he drank white wine and was tipsy.Meanwhile, Edgar returned to the countryside and managed to get back his hat and umbrella, but not before Napoleon and Lafayette attempted to nip at his heels again.
On the way home, O'Malley took the cats to Scat Cat's abode in an abandoned building. Scat Cat and his gang of alley cats entertained the family, before heading off into the night. Once the kittens were put to bed, Duchess and O'Malley shared a tender moment and shared her eagerness to return to Madame, but O'Malley felt that Madame only saw Duchess and her kittens as housepets. Duchess however, explained that Madame considered them as part of her family.
The next morning, O'Malley led the family back to Madame's mansion, only to be confronted by Edgar, who quickly threw them in a sack. Rocquefort (the house mouse) saw the whole thing, and after he went to Duchess and the kittens in the sack, he went and looked for O'Malley. Thomas headed back to the mansion, and told Rocquefort to find Scat Cat and his gang. Back in the mansion's stables, Edgar placed the cats into a trunk. He already called for a truck to pick the trunk up, when O'Malley burst in and attacked Edgar. Soon after, Scat Cat and his gang arrived to help, while Rocquefort managed to pick the lock and freed the cats. Scat Cat's gang managed to knock Edgar into the trunk and out the stable's doors, just as the pick-up service arrived, which took him away.
Some time afterward, Madame Bonfamille found that Edgar went missing for some unknown reason, and called George to repurpose her will, removing him from any inheritance. Thomas was welcomed into the family, and Madame chose to allow her mansion to be a safe haven for all the alley cats in Paris.
The film ended with Scat Cat and his gang throwing a wild party at Madame's abode.

The Black Cauldron was released in 1985 and is considered to be one of Disney’s darkest movies, being the first to receive a PG rating and the only one since. It is loosely based on the first two books in The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander, a series of five novels that are, in turn, based on Welsh mythology.
Set in the mythical land of Prydain during the Early Middle Ages, the film centers on the evil Horned King who hopes to secure an ancient magical cauldron that will aid him in his desire to conquer the world. He is opposed by a young pig keeper named Taran, the young princess Eilonwy, the bard Fflewddur Fflam, and a wild creature named Gurgi who seek to destroy the cauldron, to prevent the Horned King from ruling the world.
In the land of Prydain, Taran is an "assistant pig-keeper" on a small farm, home of Dallben the Enchanter. Dallben learns that the Horned King is searching for a mystical relic known as the Black Cauldron, which is capable of creating an invincible army of undead warriors, the "Cauldron-Born". Dallben fears the Horned King may try to steal his pig Hen Wen, which has oracular powers, and use her to locate the cauldron. Dallben directs Taran to take Hen Wen to safety; unfortunately, Taran's foolish daydreaming causes Hen Wen to be captured by the Horned King's forces.
Taran follows them to the Horned King's stronghold. Along the way, he encounters the small, pestering companion Gurgi, who joins Taran on his search. Frustrated by Gurgi's antics, Taran leaves the former to sneak into the castle and rescues Hen Wen, but although Hen Wen escapes from the castle, Taran is caught and thrown into the dungeon. A fellow captive named Princess Eilonwy frees Taran as she is trying to make her own escape. In the catacombs beneath the castle, Taran and Eilonwy discover the ancient burial chamber of a king, where Taran arms himself with the king's magic sword. Along with a third prisoner, the comical, middle-aged bard Fflewddur Fflam, they escape from the castle and are soon reunited with Gurgi. Upon discovering that Taran has escaped, the Horned King orders his dwarf companion Creeper to send monsters to follow Taran and bring him back alive.
Following Hen Wen's trail, the four stumble into the underground kingdom of the Fair Folk who reveal that Hen Wen is under their protection. When the cheerful, elderly King Eiddileg reveals that he knows where the cauldron is, Taran resolves to go destroy it himself. Eilonwy, Fflewddur, and Gurgi agree to join him and Eiddileg's obnoxious right-hand man Doli is assigned to lead them to the Marshes of Morva while the Fair Folk agree to escort Hen Wen safely home. At the marshes they learn that the cauldron is held by three witches. They agree to trade the cauldron for Taran's sword, and he reluctantly agrees. Before vanishing, the witches reveal that the cauldron is indestructible, and that its power can only be broken by someone who climbs in under his own free will, which will kill him. Although Taran feels foolish for aspiring to destroy the cauldron alone, his companions show their belief in him. Suddenly, the Horned King's soldiers appear. They seize the cauldron and capture everyone but Gurgi, and take their prisoners back to the castle. The Horned King uses the cauldron to raise the dead and his Cauldron-born army begins to pour out into the world.
Gurgi manages to free the captives and Taran decides to cast himself into the cauldron, but Gurgi stops him and jumps into the cauldron himself. The undead army collapses. When the Horned King spots Taran at large, he infers the turn of events and saying that Taran has interfered for the last time, throws the youth toward the cauldron; however, the cauldron's magic consumes the Horned King, as well as destroying the castle, using up all its powers forever. The three witches come to recover the now-inert Black Cauldron. However, Taran has finally realized Gurgi's true friendship, and he persuades them to revive the wild thing in exchange for the cauldron, forcing him to give up his magical sword permanently. Fflewddur challenges the reluctant witches to demonstrate their powers by the revival, and upon hearing Fflewddur's remarks, the witches honour the request, restoring Gurgi back to life. The four friends then journey back home where Dallben and Doli watch them in a vision created by Hen Wen, and Dallben finally praises Taran for his heroism despite the fact that he prefers to be a Pig-Boy.
This is the first Walt Disney film to feature the "classic" Walt Disney Pictures logo that you can see on this blog’s background. This logo would be used until the new CGI logo was introduced 2006 (the live action style one).
This is the first Disney animated feature to not contain any songs, neither performed by characters or in the background.
Known by many as "the film Disney tried to bury," fans of both the fantasy genre and the film itself have tried many times to get the film's deleted footage restored.
The version of the film released to theatres omits about 10 to 15 minutes fully animated footage due to their dark themes that one can notice if they look for jumps in scenes.
According to animation artist Michael Peraza Jr., when Disney started having screenings for the public at the studio theatre to gather their reactions to the rough cut of this film, he knew that the "un-dead" section would most likely be revolting to some in the audience who would not expect to see a bunch of rotted corpses slowly fermenting. When the film reached the "un-dead" sections close to the end of the film, the doors opened and a mother was angrily leaving with her two wailing children. She was followed by another, and soon there was a sizable exodus of crying kids and upset parents fleeing from the theatre. The un-dead sections were quickly cut from the film.
It was Christmas time when a couple named 'Jim Dear' and 'Darling' celebrated their holiday with their new Cocker Spaniel puppy, whom they named Lady. Time passed and when Lady turned 6 months old, she was given a collar with a license. Lady had a good friendship with Jacques, a wily Scottish Terrier, and Trusty who is an old Bloodhound.
One day, Jacques and Trusty visited Lady, and found her feeling depressed as Jim Dear referred to her as "that dog" and that they would not play ball with her anymore. Jacques and Trusty explained to Lady that her owners are expecting a baby, but they were interrupted by a mangy grey dog named Tramp. Tramp then explained that babies are 'homewreckers,'but he gave a smirk at the end which implied that he knew more to the story.
As months flew by, the child of Jim Dear and Darling was finally born. Lady felt neglected, along and unwanted as the couple spent all their time with the baby. Curious, Lady went into the new nursery where she saw the baby, while Jim Dear gave her a pat on the head assuring that they still lover her.
A couple years after the baby was born, the couple went on a trip and left their baby and Lady with their Aunt Sarah. However, Aunt Sarah had no tolerance for dogs, and preferred the company of her Siamese cats, Si and Am. Everytime the cats caused trouble, Lady was always the one who was blamed. It came to the point where Aunt Sarah brought her to the pet store to put a muzzle on her. Frightened by this experience, Lady ran from the pet store, but she ended up in a bard part of town and was chased by three large dogs. Luckily, Tramp was there at the same place and he defended Lady. Tramp also manged to get the muzzle off Lady. Tramp then took Lady to a restaurant named Tony's where they had dinner and strolled at a local park after that.
When they woke, Lady wanted to rush home as she feels that she needed to look after the baby. With this, Tramp decided to take her home, but along the way, decided to have a little fun by rousing up a henhouse that he saw. When the owner appeared with a shotgun, Tramp and Lady ran, but Lady didn't get far, was caught by a dogcatcher and was taken to a dog pound.
Once in the pound, Lady was bullied by the other dogs due to her cleanliness and license, she is ridiculed for her license and cleanliness, but another female dog named Peg got everyone to stop the ridicule. Once they got to know each other, Lady was shocked that Tramp new a lot of the female dogs in the pound.
Eventually, Aunt Sarah came to pick up Lady and she tied her to the dog house at the back of the house. Jacques and Trusty visited to her to try and lighten the mood, but this was cut short when Tramp came. Lady vented her frustrations at Tramp and was upset about hearing how Tramp has been with a lot of other women before. As Tramp was about to leave, Lady saw a rat going into the baby's room and she started barking. Aunt Sarah, not the biggest fan of Lady, thought that she was just trying to get attention. Aunt Sarah ignored their barking, locked Lady in a closet before calling the dog pound, as she thought that the dogs attacked the baby.
Shortly thereafter, Jim Dear and Darling returned, just as Tramp was being led away by the dogcatcher, as he claimed that the dog tried to attack the baby. However, once Jim Dear looked in the baby's room, he found the dead rat, and they realised that the Lady and the Tramp were protecting the baby.
It is Christmas again. Tramp was made a member of the family, and he and Lady had puppies of their own. Jacques and Trusty (with a cast on his leg) visit them as well, and they celebrated the holidays together.

One dark night, Jafar, the sultan's grand vizier, met with a thief named Kassim. Kassim gave Jafar one of the two gold scarab beetles, which when combined, resulted in giant tiger's head to rise from the sand: the Cave of Wonders. Jafar ordered Kassim to go inside and retrieve a lamp. However, upon approaching the Tiger's Head, it spoke that only one may enter: "One whose worth lies far within: the Diamond in the Rough!"
The next day, on the streets of Agrabah, a young man named Aladdin with his monkey, Abu were trying to steal some bread. With the Royal Prince walking past them, he dismissed Aladdin as useless and worthless.
The following day, the Royal Prince left the Palace, angered that Princess Jasmine rejected his marriage proposal. The Sultan asked his adviser, Jafar, for help and Jafar agreed under one condition: the Sultan should give him his blue diamond ring. Under his hypnosis, the Sultan did what Jafar asked.
That night, Jasmine escaped from the Palace, and wandered the streets of Agrabah where she got in trouble with a street merchant for giving food to a little boy, but Aladdin interfered and saved her at the right time.Meanwhile, Jafar has used the blue diamond ring of the Sultan's and it revealed that it is Aladdin who needs to enter the Cave of Wonders.
Aladdin retreated with Jasmine to his and Abu's place, and she was impressed by his kindness. Suddenly, Aladdin was summoned by the Royal Guards and taken to prison as per Jafar's orders, as he kidnapped Princess Jasmine.
Returning to the Palace, Jasmine confronted Jafar, but Jafar later told Jasmine that Aladdin has been executed.
In reality, Aladdin was imprisoned in the Royal Dungeon, but Abu managed to free Aladdin, and were tricked by an old beggar(who was actually Jafar) to help him locate The Cave of Wonders.
After the group arrived at the Caves, Aladdin enter as the cave commanded that he "touch nothing but the lamp." They encountered a magic carpet, which led them to the lamp's location. Aladdin retrieved it, but Abu broke the rule by wiping a large ruby, which caused the cave to collapse on them. With the help of the magic carpet, Aladdin and Abu manage to get to the entrance to the cave, where the old beggar pleaded Aladdin for the lamp. Aladdin did so, and the beggar tried to kill him. Luckily, Abu bit the beggar and escaped the beggar's dagger.
Jafar reached for the lamp, only to find it was gone as Abu managed to steal it off him. In the cave, Aladdin rubbed the lamp, which then produced a large blue genie and told Aladdin that he is entitled to three wishes, except the following:
1) He can't kill anyone
2) He can't make anyone fall in love with someone else
3) He can't bring people back from the dead
Using his street-smarts, Aladdin managed to con Genie into getting him and Aladdin out of the cave without using a wish and the Genie revealed that he wished to be set free of the lamp, after Aladdin's two wishes.
Aladdin first wished to be a Prince came true, so Princess Jasmine can fall in love with him and Abu is transformed into a large white elephant and will be Aladdin's mount. Meanwhile, Jafar upset that he didn't get the lamp he attempted to convince the Sultan that the royal rules stated that if Jasmine has not been suitably wed by a certain time, Jafar can marry her. However, the plans are put on hold due to the arrival of Prince Ali Ababwa (aka Aladdin in his new persona). Initially unimpressed, Jasmine shooed Prince Ali away, but later remembered Aladdin as the street urchin once who took his hat off. Aladdin's charms eventually won Jasmine over and the two took a trip around the world in his magic carpet.
Returning to the palace, Aladdin was seized by the guards and was dumped in a nearby lake, accidentally rubbing the lamp. The Genie then appears and Aladdin wished for his life to be saved. Aladdin returned to the palace to find that Jafar was using his cobra-shaped staff to once again hypnotize the sultan, to allow her daughter to marry Jafar. Aladdin figured out Jafar's schemes and smashed the staff. Jafar vanished before the palace guards can arrest him. After that, the sultan saw that Jasmine accepted Aladdin and wished to marry him.
Jafar, with the stolen lamp, returned to his lair beneath the palace, rubbed the lamp and summoned the Genie. Genie was forced by Jafar's to bring the palace to a remote mountain. Jafar's 1st wish was to become a powerful sorcerer and revealed Aladdin's true identity and was taken out of the palace. Jafar then used his 2nd wish to become sultan, imprisoned the real sultan and the princess until she agreed to marry him.
Aladdin managed to get back to the castle with the help of the magic carpet. Aladdin tried to steal back the lamp from Jafar while Jasmine pretended to be suddenly enraptured with Jafar to distract him. However, Jafar knocked Aladdin away and trapped Jasmine in a large hourglass. Jafar turned into a giant cobra to terrorize Aladdin, who fought back valiantly. Aladdin influenced Jafar into using his 3rd wish by telling Jafar that the Genie is still more powerful. Jafar then wished to be turned into a genie himself. Aladdin reminded him that being a Genie means becoming a servant to whomever holds the lamp. Jafar shackled and is sucked into the new lamp created by his wish and is trapped.
For Aladdin's 3rd wish, he set the genie free. The lamp became inactive and the genie's shackles fell off his wrists. The sultan, knowing that Aladdin is not a prince, decided to let him marry is daughter and Abu is changed back into his monkey form, as the Genie said goodbye. Aladdin and the princess were married and Aladdin became heir to the kingdom. They flew away on Aladdin's carpet toward the moon, which turned into the laughing genie's face.
